Dr. Jamie Ayers

Dr. Jamie Ayers

Medical Director

St George’s Vet Hospital’s current Medical Director, Dr. Ayres graduated from Ross University in 2001. Her special interests include surgery and ophthalmology. Some of her favorite pastimes are hiking, exploring the nations’ state parks, rooting for the Seattle Seahawks & spending time with her husband, family, and five wonderfully unique pets.

Dr. Samantha Sack

Dr. Samantha Sack

Dr. Samantha Sack is a University of Delaware graduate, where she earned her BS in Animal Science. She was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University in 2013. Her interests include gardening in the spring and summer, playing a variety of games, and dabbling in a variety of arts and crafts. She enjoys reading, drinking tea, and spending time with her cat, Naija.

Dr. Frank Acevedo

Dr. Frank Acevedo

Dr. Acevedo was born in Puerto Rico. Growing up he learned to value pets and understands they are family. In 2011, he was accepted in the veterinary medicine program. Since graduating in 2015, he has been helping animals feel better.

In his free time, Dr. Acevedo enjoys exercising, travel, and spending time with his family. He finds it fascinating to meet new people and to experience different cultures. He enjoys interacting with clients and understands the positive effects a pet could have on their owners. Dr. Acevedo is looking forward to meeting you and your pet!

Dr. Joel Friedman

Dr. Joel Friedman

Veterinarian

Hospital director, Dr. Joel Friedman founded St. Georges Veterinary Hospital in 1978. Before establishing St. Georges, Dr. Friedman practiced veterinary medicine at Lexington Animal Hospital in Clark, NJ from 1975 to 1979.

An avid sports fan and scholar of baseball history, Dr. Friedman grew up in New York City and has lived in Scotch Plains, NJ for the last three decades. Dr. Friedman attended State University of New York, Farmingdale, where he earned an Associate’s Degree in Animal Science. He went on to attend Cornell University, where he was awarded a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture. Dr. Friedman earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of the Philippines College of Veterinary Medicine in 1975. His professional interests include dermatology, parasitology, dentistry and internal medicine.

Dr. Friedman is a member and past president of the Metropolitan New Jersey Veterinary Association. He also maintains membership in the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Friedman can usually be found cheering on the Mets, Jets, Nets and the Devils. He also loves golf, both as a spectator and player. Aside from sports, he enjoys going to rock and folk concerts and Broadway productions. Dr. Friedman also loves reading about the history of baseball, especially anything about the Brooklyn Dodgers. His wife, Lauren, shares many of his hobbies, and the couple has an adult daughter, Eryn. At home, Dr. Friedman cares for Maggie Belle, a Scottish Terrier.
